Asia Travel Guides

Mount Fuji, Japan

As a child, I had two Japanese college students stay with her family for a week. They brought gifts from their home, cooked us Japanese food, taught us origami and shared their culture and love for their country. Even though we lost contact with those students, I have wanted to go to Japan ever since to experience it for myself.

In December 2022 we saw an amazing airfare to Japan and jumped on it, planning a two-week trip for the following summer. In the 6 months that followed, I learned everything I could about how to make our trip to Japan memorable and fun. In the meantime, Tim planned a 10-day extention to Thailand and Vietnam. We definitely hope to return to Asia in the near future.

Planning a trip to Japan was much more complicated than I expected even though I was well versed in travel planning. But the difference in language and customs, coupled with the fact that I wanted to do it all, made it trickier. When we returned, we created an ebook with everything we learned to share with our friends and family and we’re making it available here for free for a limited time.
