We are a family of four who love to experience new adventures in new places.  For years people have asked us how we plan our trips and asked for recommendations on creating their own, so we created this blog to share our past itineraries as well as what we’ve learned and what has worked for us over the years. ❄️ Walking Inside a Glacier at Mer de Glace! 🏔️ Swipe through to see one of the most incredible (and sobering) experiences we’ve ever had in Chamonix. A visit to this massive glacier is absolutely breathtaking—but each year, it’s disappearing more and more. 📍 To get there, we took a scenic cogwheel train and then a gondola. When the ice cave was first carved out, it was right at the base of the gondola. When we visited you had to walk 530 steps down to reach it… and they have been adding more every year as the ice melts. This past December, they unveiled a new gondola to help get visitors closer, but there are still nearly 200 steps down. Standing inside the glacier was an unforgettable experience, but also a stark reminder of how fast our world is changing. So glad we got to see it while it’s still here.
